Global Outreach Update - December 2025

JFM Global Outreach Update

As we are closer to celebrating the birth of Jesus and welcoming a new year, let us also celebrate an overview of the wonderful blessings  in Global Outreach that took place this year. None of these incredible accomplishments for Christ would have happened without your continued prayers, engagement and support. Thank YOU for being a part of these stories, growth and bringing the Kingdom around the world!

BULGARIA:
*Ministry trip  in late January 2025 with four participants that helped with the feeding winter program and to help establish a relationship with a Roma Church plant (Pastor Lubucho). The four women that went spent a handful of days engaging with 13 young Roma girls and teenagers in a Christian study retreat at the St John Home.

*8400+ meals served from December 2024-April 2025

*Re-established use of the St John Home’s with updated gov’t regulations, rather than a safe house–it is now being utilized as a retreat center for groups. This past year JFM donated $3,500 to the St John’s home, which takes care of most of the utility and maintenance cost.

*11 baptisms have taken place in the Roma church supported by JFM because of growth in Bible studies, outreach programs and discipleship.

BURUNDI:
*Complete physical building/campus at Burenza. This has been an 18 year journey with JFM and BFMC (Burundi Free Methodist Church). The clinic in the first six months of 2025 had 32,000 visits with roughly 8,400 being children. 214 babies were born healthy and in a safe, clean environment.

*FULL TIME DOCTOR living at Burenza. Dr. Blaise lives there full time in the newly built doctor residence. He is committed to the area and has recently been married this summer.

*FULL TIME CHAPLAIN who not only oversees the clinic, but the church at Burenza and bible studies/CBS. Pastor Jasiel and Dr. Blaise hold prayer time together morning and evening. There are many Bible studies happening weekly in Burenza now, two of them being specifically for the employees at the clinic.

*Start of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the new build in Cibitoke. Cibioke is located in the northern part of Burundi, near the DRC and Rwanda border. One of the biggest Free Methodist Churches is located right across the street from the building site. There is an ICCM school nearby and a future satellite campus of Hope Africa University. The clinic will touch the lives of over 600,000 to offer basic medical treatments and special care for mothers and children.

*Continued operations and financial follow through of the Busoma Feeding Program at Burenza. 125 children are rotated on and off the program once they get to a healthy weight-being feed twice a week. JFM donates $5,000 every quarter alone for the Busoma Feeding program–many of these dollars being donated by you!

Pastor Jasiel, who is leading and connecting the entire mountain top area of Burenza to Christ. He leads the church there, oversees the chaplaincy role at the Center and supports the Bible studies in the community.

Dr. Blaise (2nd from left) is Burenza’s FULL TIME doctor! Please pray for his encouragement has he leads the medical Center. He is a man after God’s heart who is much in the Bible as he is bedside with his patients.

HONDURAS:
*Joan Hofer, GO Team’s Focus Leader  and Bill, her husband, went on a private trip to Tocoa in January to support teachers at the Amor Viviente Bilingual School. While in Honduras she spent time connecting with the pastors and preparing for an adult ministry trip in July. During the week they taught English to elementary though high school age students every day. JFM donated many suitcases full of books and board games to supply the school with much needed supplies.

*A team of 11 adults went to Honduras to serve in the communities near Trujillo July 27 - August 4. They ministered to 75 households by providing water filters and mosquito nets, along with food rations for the families. The families were instructed in the use and maintenance of the water filters, and mosquito nets were hung above each bed in the household. Families were then prayed with and for, and some families reciprocated by praying for our team.  At least one man prayed to receive Christ while we were hanging nets over the beds in his home.

*The team provided the funds for the church plant in Trujillo to purchase an American school bus, which will be used to transport people from the countryside to church each Sunday.

*16 baptisms took place this past Spring, with the new believers being baptised in the Caribbean!

*JFM has begun this year to help with a feeding program that engages with about 30 children and a few elderly people in the church communities.

HUNGARY:
*Ministry leaders: Zsuzsa, Peter and Gabi have visited dozens of secondary schools and college classrooms educating and inviting other Hungarians to learn and understand the effects of human trafficking in their country.

*Transition from Larry and Katie Winckles retiring from missionary work in Hungary (24+ years in the field) with the national leaders Pastor Peter and Associate Pastor Zsusza stepping up and filling in the roles.

*60 participants in Silent Protest (5,000 steps-what was Walk for Freedom) that got national attention through national news source and radio

*Monthly engagements with three children’s homes (controlled by the government) located across Hungary in Budapest, Pecs and Gyor. The team holds crafts, studies and VBS throughout the year. JFM donates $6,000 annually to help fund Christ-Centered activities for children in these foster care and orphanages. The funds also supply much needed toiletries, vitamins and care packages during the holidays.

In all of our four ministries we get to connect and grow with, each are striving to meet the basic needs in their communities with access to food and medicine. Our world is hurting and needs the local church, like each of these ministries, to meet the people where they are hurting to then bring the Gospel of Jesus. We are reminded in John 16 when Jesus is telling his disciples that you will weep and mourn, but your pain will turn into joy (verse 20-21) and to take heart as you will have trouble, but have courage I have overcome the world  (verse 33 summary).

It takes courage to step out of your comfort zone—to pray for someone you may never meet and to give to cause that may not directly affect you. We thank you for those who are faithful and courageous in their faith walk! Your prayers and your provisions, true joy is being shared to the ends of the earth.

We look forward to the exciting, yet sometimes hard days ahead in these ministries. Stay tuned in January for what to look forward to in serving, praying and engaging with Jesus globally in 2026.

God Bless-

Annie Creech, Chair of Global Outreach.
